Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
YMMFit is a Shopify app that adds a Year / Make / Model fitment filter to a merchant's store, with vehicle-fitment data built in. This policy explains what data the app handles. In short: we store no shopper personal data — no names, emails, addresses or payment details.
Who we are
YMMFit ("we", "us") provides the YMMFit Shopify application and the website at ymmfit.com. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected].
Data we access from the merchant's store
When a merchant installs the app, Shopify grants us access to the following, used only to make the app work:
- Products — product titles, types, vendors and IDs, so we can attach fitment and filter results.
- Theme settings — colours and corner styles, so the widget can match the storefront's look. We read these; we do not modify the theme.
- Orders — order ID, total and currency, used only to show the merchant how much revenue the fitment search assisted. We do not read customer names, emails, addresses or payment information.
Data created by shoppers using the widget
When a shopper uses the fitment filter on the storefront, we record:
- The vehicle searched (year, make, model) and, if chosen, a product category — so the merchant can see demand and coverage gaps.
- A note that a search assisted an order, stored as the order ID, total and the vehicle label (e.g. "2019 BMW 3-Series").
Merchant contact data
If a merchant emails us or uses the in-app support chat, we receive the message they send and their store domain so we can reply. Support messages are delivered to us via Telegram.
How we use data
- To operate the fitment filter and compatibility badge.
- To show the merchant search demand, coverage gaps and assisted-revenue insights.
- To provide support when a merchant contacts us.
We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Sub-processors
- Shopify — the platform the app runs on.
- Hetzner (EU) — hosts the app server and database.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website.
- Telegram — delivers support-chat messages to us.
Data retention & deletion
App data is kept while the app is installed. When a merchant uninstalls the app, Shopify notifies us and we delete all data we hold for that store, in line with Shopify's compliance webhooks (typically within 48 hours). A merchant can also request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].
Your rights (GDPR)
Because we hold no shopper personal data, there is nothing personal to export or erase for shoppers. Merchants may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their store's app data at any time. We respond to Shopify's mandatory customers/data_request, customers/redact and shop/redact requests automatically.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes will be communicated to installed merchants.
